Description
An ornamented Christmas tree. New Mexico has a rich cultural history and also the worlds largest hot air balloon fiesta. New Mexico is also known for chili, both green and red. The colonial, westward moving pioneers and the indigenous cultures have all contributed to that richness. If you come to New Mexico and order a meal at a restaurant you might be asked that very familiar question- red or green? if you put up a Christmas tree you will very likely have chili ornaments hanging. The Hot air balloon ornaments in my painting feature designs found on pottery through out our enchanted state.
